It’s bigger and better every year.
The Brookline team was happy to be back among the over 36,000 attendees and miles of displays at this year’s International Council of Shopping Centers event in Las Vegas: RECon 2016. RECon is the global convention for the shopping center industry and provides networking, deal making and educational opportunities for retail real estate professionals from around the world.
Crowds were large no matter where your business took you this year. Seminars were full, booths and walkways were bustling, and sadly the lines for tasty giveaways were long.
The conference was a success nonetheless. Brookline were pleased to immerse themselves in such an active environment filled with opportunity. We’d like to extend a “Thank You” to those who took time to meet or exchange some knowledge at any point during our stay.
ICSC does an incredible job putting RECon together, as well as many other events around the country, and internationally. Read more about them here.
Convention Plaza in Tinley Park will now be fully occupied with the new addition of Fratello’s Café signing on for two units totaling 2,740 SF. The established café offers fresh sandwiches and salads, pastas and paninis, imported meats, coffee, beer and wine.
Brookline is delighted to bring Brewpoint Coffee Company to the prominent retail center in Elmhurst, York Center Plaza. Situated on York Road at the I-290 interchange, just north of downtown, the 74,000 SF neighborhood center is at the prime spot for the recent extension of high-end retail on the North York Corridor. With a new Mariano’s, LA Fitness and Starbucks directly across the street, and a new Edward-Elmhurst Health Center under construction, the 23k VPD traffic counts are sure to increase.
“Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s menu boasts bold, flavorful food and smoothies with a healthy appeal, all made to order from the freshest ingredients. We find that superior, simple ingredients including real fruit and veggies set our smoothies apart from the others.”
