“Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s menu boasts bold, flavorful food and smoothies with a healthy appeal, all made to order from the freshest ingredients. We find that superior, simple ingredients including real fruit and veggies set our smoothies apart from the others.”
The healthy-lifestyle retailer first opened its doors in 1997 in Tallahassee, Florida. They now operate over 500 locations nationwide. Two more were recently inked at Brookline assets in the Chicago suburbs of Lockport and Tinley Park.
The unit in Lockport has a drive-thru to keep sales going indoors and out. Lockport Square is also anchored by a Walmart Supercenter on a corner densely surrounded by residential developments.
The Tinley Park location at Convention Plaza is ideal given the high traffic counts at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and 183rd Street, the dense area of quality retailers, and the built-in traffic to and from the Tinley Park Convention Center.
Brookline is thrilled to add one of the fastest growing national retailers to the tenant mix at two separate centers as we continue to add value and quality consumer options in those communities.

Fry the Coop has since been featured on ABC’s Windy City Live and Hungry Hound, WGN’s Lunch Break, Fox’s Good Day Chicago, WGN Radio’s Bill & Wendy Show, and in the Chicago Tribune and Eater Chicago. The abundance of media coverage catapulted business from strong local core to lines out the door. They were selling like – you guessed it – Nashville Hot cakes
The Brookline team was happy to be back among the over 37,000 attendees and miles of displays at this year’s International Council of Shopping Centers event in Las Vegas: RECon 2018. RECon is the global convention for the shopping center industry and provides networking, deal making and educational opportunities for retail real estate professionals from around the world.
